Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights

We are civil rights lawyers and advocates working to secure racial equity and economic opportunity for all. We provide legal representation through partnerships with the private bar, and we collaborate with grassroots organizations and other advocacy groups to implement community-based solutions that advance civil rights.

Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund

CLITF was created by City Council ordinance oto provide rental assistance to residents most in need of affordable housing. Incorporated in February 1990 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Trust Fund is governed by a 15 member Board of Directors appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.

NeighborShare

NeighborShare works by giving frontline heroes—people who are embedded in communities and know exactly what their neighbors need when they need it—a way to share needs of $400 or less that would otherwise go unmet, and get help when other options have run out.

New Moms believes in the strength, skills, and potential of all families and communities to pursue and achieve their goals. At New Moms, young moms, 24 and under, take powerful first steps toward economic mobility and family well-being. Their 2-Generation approach puts families experiencing poverty in control of their goals and unleashes their potential.

SHPA’s mission is to strengthen the supportive housing industry, to enable the increased development of supportive housing, and to support non-profit organizations to develop the capacity for providing permanent supportive housing.
